18-Wheeler Accident Shuts Down Interstate 37 Corpus Christi

According to reports, on January 8, 2013, an 18-wheeler wheeler crossed over the median and then was hit by a pickup truck on Interstate 37 and Port Avenue in Corpus Christi. Witnesses say the 18-wheeler also took out an over head sign in the incident. Authorities say the cleanup caused the interstate to be closed in both directions.

According to the driver of the pickup, he was in the left lane while the 18-wheeler was in the middle lane when he lost control of his truck, hit the concrete barrier and veered into the 18-wheeler, which jackknifed.
