18-Wheelers Collide Head-On Near Holland, Texas

On October 29, 2012, authorities say that two 18-wheelers collided head-on about two miles north of Holland, Texas on State Highway 95 and one of them burst into flames. Reportedly, SH 95 was closed to traffic from FM1123 to Roberts Road while firefighters doused the flames. Holland’s fire chief said he heard the crash from his home, looked out a window and saw heavy black smoke coming from the direction of the crash.

Authorities say diesel fuel that leaked from the burning truck was running down the roadway and burning as it inched toward the other truck that was about 100 yards away.
Reportedly, the second truck was leaking diesel fuel, as well, but it did not catch fire.
