On April 11, 2011, Harris County authorities say a woman was killed after crashing into the back of a truck on Highway 290. Investigators say the woman was driving a Toyota SUV on Highway 290 near West Road when she crashed into a Chevrolet truck that was stopped in a moving lane of traffic. Reportedly she died as a result of her injuries. Harris County authorities say the two men who were riding in the truck had to be cut out and were transported to the hospital. Sources say the highway was closed for several hours following the accident.
