On May 13, 2011, Houston Police say a 14 year-old boy was killed after a high speed joy ride in his brother’s car. Reportedly, the boy crashed into a tree on Valley View Lane and Mahoning Drive in southwest Houston. Investigators believe speed was factor as witnesses reported the boy drove into a front yard and struck a tree which caused the vehicle to rollover. Houston authorities say there were five people in the car at the time of the crash. Reportedly, the boy’s older brother noticed his keys were gone but did not realize what had happened until he was informed of the wreck.
