On February 8, 2011, a 77-year-old woman was driving her Lexis with two other passengers. She was headed north through an apartment complex parking lot around 7:00 p.m. on the 2900 block of Bissonnet at a high rate of speed. She then crashed through two gates and crossed Westpark into an open field before stopping at a fence. Police say the two other passengers in the vehicle were 70-years-old and 86-years-old, and all three women were rushed to the hospital. The 86-year-old passenger died as a result of her injuries.
