Four Texas Truck Accidents Last Week
May 11, 2015A series of Texas truck accidents occurred on the state’s highways last week, including a fatal wreck near Lubbock. An 18 wheeler and a box truck collided on Interstate 20 just east of Dallas. A tractor-trailer struck a minivan just south of McAllen near the U.S.-Mexico border. Another Texas truck accident closed down the southbound lanes of U.S. 59 near Cleveland in East Texas. The Lubbock accident involved a passenger car in a head-on collision with a semi.
Dallas Texas Truck Accident
A Texas truck accident involving a box truck and an 18 wheeler happened during the Wednesday evening rush hour. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near the border between Kaufman and Van Zandt counties east of Dallas. Authorities reported that the box truck rear-ended the 18 wheeler. Local sources stated that the box truck driver was pinned in his cab. The extraction process took nearly 45 minutes, after which both drivers in the Texas truck accident were transported by CareFlite helicopter to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Pharr Texas Truck Accident
At the other end of the state, another Texas truck accident closed down traffic for several miles. The accident occurred on U.S. Expressway 83 near the interchange with U.S. 281 in Pharr, just nine miles north of the Mexican border. A witness to the Texas truck accident told local reporters that he heard a “loud crunching noise and saw the truck shift lanes” when it struck a minivan. The witness said that the truck driver attempted to avoid another driver who cut him off, but collided with the minivan. Despite extensive damage to the vehicle, only two passengers in the minivan sustained minor injuries.

Cleveland Texas Truck Accident
A Texas truck accident in the East Texas town of Cleveland involved a pickup truck, and SUV and an 18 wheeler. Reports showed that a Chevy Trailblazer SUV broke down in traffic and a Ford F-150 stopped behind it without turning on its hazard lights. The Texas truck accident occurred when the 18 wheeler struck the pickup, when then rear-ended the Trailblazer. All five people in the SUV were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Two of the three passengers in the pickup were flown to a local hospital, both in critical condition.

Lubbock Texas Truck Accident Turns Fatal
A collision between an 18 wheeler and a passenger car resulted in a fatal Texas truck accident near Lubbock. The Texas truck accident occurred on Interstate 27 just after 7pm Saturday evening. Local police stated that the car was traveling in the northbound lanes when it crossed the median and struck the truck head-on. However, at least one eyewitness report stated that both vehicles were travleing southbound and that the car swerved in front of the truck, causing it to spin. First responders pronounced the car’s driver dead at the scene.
