Houston 18 Wheeler Accident Kills Pedestrian

A pedestrian walking on Highway 290 was killed when he was struck by an 18-wheeler.  The Houston 18 wheeler accident occurred about 8 p.m. on Monday near Brittmoore Road on Highway 290.

According to reports, investigators said it is not known how the man got to the elevated portion of the freeway without being spotted.  The driver of the 18 wheeler allegedly reported he could not stop in time before striking the pedestrian who died at the scene.  The 18 wheeler accident shut down the inbound lanes of 290 for several hours.  Nothing was reported as to whether the 18 wheeler truck driver could have taken evasive action or was paying attention at the time of the wreck.  The full story can be viewed here.
