Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk Driver Near Houston

On April 10, 2011, Harris County authorities say a 39 year old man died in a motorcycle accident early in the morning. Reportedly, the man was riding his motorcycle westbound on the 400 block of Rankin Road when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound on Rankin Road made a left turn in front of him. Investigators say the man tried to stop his motorcycle but there was not enough time and he hit the pickup which ejected him from his motorcycle. Authorities say the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Harris County authorities say the driver of the Silverado did not stop to help the motorcyclist.  However, sources say he was found a short time later and his blood alcohol content was over the legal limit.  Reportedly, the driver of the Silverado was arrested on intoxicated manslaughter charges.
