On November 2, 2011, Houston authorities say the driver of a sport utility vehicle lost control of his SUV and slammed into a northwest Houston freeway guardrail. Reportedly, the crash happened at the interchange of the North Loop and the Northwest Freeway. Investigators say the driver of an 18-wheeler could not stop in time and also slammed into the guardrail on the opposite side of the freeway. Sources say the freeway was shut down for more than two hours but was cleared before morning rush hour.
