Truck leading chase through Beaumont wrecks cop car

At about 1:30 a.m., officers saw a black Ford F-250 spinning its tires near Fast Eddie’s on Phelan Boulevard before it pulled onto Phelan, headed east, said Officer Randy Stevens with the Beaumont Police Department.

When police tried to pull the car over, the truck did not stop, but turned right on Belvedere then left on Calder, still heading east, Stevens said.

The car was left in drive, and it continued into oncoming traffic until it ran off the road, according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.
