On May 29, 2011, Harris County authorities say two young children were killed during a car accident on the Beltway feeder road near Garret. Reportedly, the 3 year-old and 8 month-old girls were thrown from a Chevy Suburban after it collided with a 71 year-old man driving a Chevy pickup. Reportedly, there were 12 children in the Suburban when the collision occurred. Sources say that traffic lights at the intersection of the collision were not working at the time the incident occurred. Authorities say it did not appear that either vehicle had been speeding and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
