Woman Dies in Beaumont Car Fire

On February 20, 2011, a woman was killed by a car fire at the intersection of Evangeline and Heritage in Beaumont, Texas. Unconfirmed reports say the 25 year-old woman was a second year law student at the University of Texas who was in town for a wedding. Beaumont police say the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Reportedly, the woman had left the house and was half a block away when her car caught fire. EMS officials say when they arrived at the scene the car was engulfed in flames. Authorities say the woman was the only person in the vehicle and the fire may have been an accident.
